Why you should go:

Test your knowledge of Russian classical music

As a young musician, Spivakov quickly established himself as one of Russia’s most important violinists, before launching a successful conducting career in the late ‘70s. Since his first concert – with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra – he has been a guest conductor at some of the world’s great orchestras and has toured extensively with his Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra. Tonight is a transnational adventure through music from tango to Shostakovich, Haydn to Popper, conducted by the great man himself.
